Polished ash concrete

Polished to a soft, deep sheen.

01Why

Polished concrete with an ash texture: glossy, exceptionally durable, with a sheen that carries the light across the room.

Concrete polished to a deep, glossy sheen, its surface softly clouded with the grain of ash: hard and smooth underfoot, and quietly luminous — no two floors alike.

It is chosen for how it lasts and for how it looks. Exceptionally durable, it is made to be lived on every day; and its lustre gives back the daylight from the large windows, so that the rooms feel brighter still. On a summer afternoon it is cool underfoot.

It also brings the austerity the project memory asks for — few materials, in which the minimum is capable of generating the maximum: a calm ground for the limestone, the wood and the view.
